NOT JUST ANY WEDDING.
A WEDDING TO REMEMBER.
NOT JUST ANY WEDDING.
A WEDDING TO REMEMBER.
It all begins with the Baraat (BAH-rot) -- basically a moving dance party. The groom's friends and family will lead a procession complete with the sound of Indian dhols, colorful clothing, and a traditional horse and carriage carrying the man of the day to greet the bride's family.
A traditional Hindu wedding ceremony can last three hours. But if you know the bride and groom, they probably wouldn't get married if that was the case. This will be a short and sweet ceremony held outdoors (depending on the weather). A traditional Gujarati lunch will be served afterwards in the State Ballroom.
The evening kicks off with a cocktail hour filled with live music, classic drinks, and an abundance of food all while you take in the beautiful mountainous views of Morris County. After that, well, that's when the real celebration begins. Dinner, (more) drinks, and dancing. Not in that particular order, of course.
Overnight wedding guests staying at The Westin Governor Morris are invited to join the newly married couple and have Sunday brunch before heading back home.
